Helping hand for Wheatbelt wallabies at risk from feral predators
The future of the beautiful but threatened black-flanked rock wallaby remains uncertain as foxes and feral cats continue to wreak havoc on remaining wallaby populations, WWF-Australia has warned on International Day for Biological Diversity.

Mitch Hooke should be ignored
WWF today called on the Federal Government to reassess and consider reducing its planned compensation to the minerals industry.
“We should question whether industries and lobbyists who are unwilling to accept their responsibility should be compensated by the Australian public,” said WWF-Australia CEO Greg Bourne.

WWF-Australia will today meet with the Appeals Convenor to the Western Australian Minister for the Environment, Donna Faragher, to formally lodge its case for the review of the Gorgon gas project.

Major increase in South West Australia’s marine landscape
An important step toward securing the future of the globally significant but unprotected south west waters of Australia was taken today as the Commonwealth Government overnight revealed areas that will be further assessed for possible inclusion in a network of new marine protected areas.

Clean energy commitment welcome but species loss likely to continue
