Protected area gaps for threatened Australian animals identified from recovery plans

This WWF report analyzes recovery plans to see to what extent habitats of threatened animals in Australia are protected in parks, reserves and other protected areas.
Better integration of protected areas and threatened species recovery planning is recommended, particularly to anticipate the shifts in habitats that will come with climate change.
Queensland was singled out as the state with the lowest area of land protected and the largest proportion of threatened animals with poor habitat protection.
