WWF-Australia engaged Eco Logical Australia (ELA) to undertake a rapid faunal assessment of areas of the NSW North Coast/tablelands region affected by the 2019-20 bushfires. The aim was to complete surveys to record the presence and abundance of terrestrial vertebrate fauna species within areas of burnt forest and compare that to the fauna that could be expected to have been located in the area prior to the fire based on habitat present and previous records within the locality.
