Protect glossy black cockatoos today
There are few sights more inspiring than a glossy black cockatoo soaring above Australia's forests.
With their striking black feathers and vibrant red tail panels, these remarkable birds are impossible to ignore. But they're more than just beautiful. Glossy black cockatoos play an important role in healthy ecosystems and hold deep cultural significance for Aboriginal Australians.
Today, the forests they depend on are under increasing pressure.
Habitat loss, deforestation and climate-fuelled bushfires are making it harder for glossy black cockatoos to find food, shelter and safe places to raise their young.
By symbolically adopting a glossy black cockatoo, you're helping support efforts to protect wildlife and the forests they call home.

How your donation can protect glossy black cockatoos
Protecting the forests they call home
Glossy black cockatoos rely on healthy forests for food, shelter and nesting sites.
By symbolically adopting a glossy black cockatoo, you're helping support efforts to protect and restore vital habitat, creating healthier homes for wildlife across Australia.
Giving nature a voice
Forests and wildlife need stronger protections to ensure they can thrive into the future.
Your support helps advocate for policies and decisions that consider nature, protecting critical habitat for glossy black cockatoos and countless other species.
Helping threatened wildlife recover
Australia's wildlife faces growing challenges from habitat loss, tree clearing and climate change.
By adopting a glossy black cockatoo, you're helping support conservation efforts that give threatened species a better chance to recover and thrive.
And for each glossy black cockatoo you symbolically adopt, you’ll be helping hundreds of other native species too.
You’ll be helping protect glossy black cockatoos
When you symbolically adopt a glossy black cockatoo, we want you to join them on their journey to a safer future.

WWF‑Australia’s symbolic adoption lets you support a species without adopting a live animal. When you choose a wombat, koala, platypus, eastern quoll or another species, your donation funds vital conservation work, including restoring and protecting habitats, reintroducing species, and supporting research and advocacy. The animal in your adoption pack represents its entire species, so your gift benefits whole populations and ecosystems. It’s a meaningful way to make a lasting difference, whether for yourself or as a gift.
Our planet’s wildlife is rapidly disappearing and funds from adoptions help protect some of our most important species. Monies raised from adoptions are unrestricted, helping support our wider work protecting wildlife and nature. As our work varies across species and projects and in response to our ever-changing environment, this ensures we have the flexibility to respond in the most impactful way.
