In celebration of NAIDOC Week 2026, Jirrbal, Wagedoegam, Ngapuhi & Scottish artist Beau Pennefather-Motlop has gifted WWF-Australia this very special nature-themed NAIDOC Week poster art to share with you.  

“Our connection with animals and nature goes back thousands of years, clans and tribes took on the responsibilities of caring for and protecting wildlife with the knowledge that all life is sacred. Many of these species became our totems as we lived symbiotically with them and maintain a deep connection both in reality and in the Dreaming.  

As part of the 50 years of Deadly celebrations and what NAIDOC means to our mobs, I want to shine a light on how nature played such a significant role in our survival and it’s continued importance to humans and Earth into the future.”
