Donate to Give Turtles and Whales a Safer Ocean Home

Make a tax-deductible gift to protect wildlife this EOFY.

Right now, turtles, whales and countless other marine animals are fighting to survive in an increasingly dangerous ocean.

Ancient migration routes followed for millions of years are now crowded with deadly fishing gear, fast‑moving ships, industrial noise and the growing impacts of climate change. Without urgent action, more animals will be injured, displaced or lost forever.

You can help change this.

Make a tax‑deductible wildlife donation by 30 June

Your gift to WWF‑Australia helps protect turtles, whales and other marine wildlife from deadly threats in our oceans. Donate today to help make their ancient journeys safer — and make the most of your EOFY gift.

Your support can help:

  • Create safer migration routes for whales.

  • Reduce injuries and deaths caused by fishing nets and ship strikes.

  • Protect critical ocean habitats for turtles and other marine wildlife.

Their ancient journeys are becoming deadly

Turtles and whales travel vast distances to feed, breed and raise their young. These journeys should be safe but today, they’re filled with danger.

Sea turtles are drowning in fishing lines and abandoned nets. Whales are struck by ships, scarred by propellers, or disoriented by relentless underwater noise that separates mothers from their calves.

These threats are happening right now - in the only home turtles and whales have.

Many species are already threatened with extinction. And because they reproduce slowly, every life lost matters.

You can help stop this. Donate now.

A safer ocean is possible - with your help

Marine sanctuaries create safe ocean spaces where turtles, whales and other marine life can feed, rest and travel without deadly nets, speeding ships or deafening noise.

By giving today, you can help protect and expand marine sanctuaries along critical migration routes - places these animals depend on to survive and raise their young.

So far, 24% of Australia’s oceans are fully protected. But scientists agree 30% protection is the bare minimum needed for marine life to recover.

Donate by 30 June to help protect the ocean places turtles and whales can’t live without.

Be the safety turtles and whales urgently need

When oceans are protected, marine life can recover. Supporters like you have already helped bring humpback whales back from the brink and support turtle recoveries in Australian waters.

But industrial fishing and shipping are intensifying and the risks are growing fast.

Right now, turtles and whales need a safer ocean.
Right now, they need you.

Make an urgent donation today to help give turtles and whales the safe future they deserve.

FAQs

What does my donation help protect?

Your gift helps protect turtles, whales and other marine life by supporting marine sanctuaries, reducing dangerous ship traffic and fishing gear, and protecting vital ocean habitats across Australia.

Why are marine sanctuaries important?

Marine sanctuaries are areas of ocean where harmful activities are limited or excluded, giving marine life space to recover, feed and migrate safely. Scientists agree they are essential for ocean recovery.

How much of Australia’s ocean is protected?

Currently, around 24% of Australia’s oceans are fully protected, but experts agree at least 30% protection is needed to safeguard marine life.

Is my donation tax‑deductible?

Yes. Donations to WWF‑Australia are tax‑deductible in Australia. Receipts are issued for all gifts.

Is WWF-Australia a registered charity?

Yes. WWF-Australia is a registered charity with the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) and meets all transparency and accountability standards.
