IN-THE-FIELD WITH WWF VET DR PRISHANI VENGETAS

We visited our partners at Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital earlier this month to witness Australia's largest mobile wildlife hospital in action. 

WWF-Australia and Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital collaborated to create a mobile hospital that can be driven to any wildlife crisis hot spot to treat, rehabilitate and care for native animals in distress. 

Dr Prishani Vengetas is WWF-Australia's Wildlife Recovery Project Coordinator and vet. She visited the Byron Bay Wildlife Hospital and helped the vets attend to an injured tawny frogmouth that had some broken wing shafts. After thorough examination it was found the tawny frogmouth luckily had no fractures. It was then sent to a wildlife rehabilitator to recover and will soon be released back into the wild!
