BREAKING NEWS

Logging has been temporarily suspended in Tallaganda State Forest after an Endangered greater glider was found deceased just 50 metres from the logging site.

We only have a small window to secure permanent protection for this area - one of the last places of refuge for greater gliders.

Australia has the highest rate of deforestation in the developed world, and now is the time to turn this around.

We plan to take Australia from a deforestation hot spot to a leader in tree protection and restoration to benefit our health, communities, climate, wildlife, and planet.

WWF-Australia’s Trees Scorecard presents a snapshot of how the country’s federal, state and territory governments are performing in protecting and restoring trees.

Saving our forests would involve commitments to:

  • Halting and reversing deforestation.
  • Banning native forest logging.
  • Implementing conservation programs.
  • Improving data transparency.
  • Incentivising farmers to keep trees in the ground.

Now is the time to take action.

Australia can become a beacon of hope for the world - a nation that not only protects and preserves its trees but also leads the way in sustainable tree management and conservation. But to get there, we need your help.
