A THRIVING QUEENSLAND ENVIRONMENT

Queensland’s natural environment, unique wildlife and iconic natural beauty is globally significant. It is a key part of Australia’s identity and the foundation of our economic well-being. However, these natural places, wildlife, and the Aussie lifestyle face huge challenges – driven by excessive tree-clearing, increased agricultural pollution flowing into the Great Barrier Reef, unsustainable fishing, and climate change. We have the solutions to address these problems – to save our Reef and protect our unique but threatened Aussie wildlife. And while all Queenslanders have a crucial role to play, the Queensland Government’s role is particularly important. For this reason WWF has identified eight priority actions which will help the Government protect Queensland’s natural environment, unique wildlife and iconic natural beauty. WWF has chosen these actions because they address the most serious challenges, and they build on existing policies, commitments and scientific evidence.
